On Saturday, the 23rd of March, the award winning Taste Food Tours, a social enterprise project of The Benevolent Society, is hosting a a special experience entitled ' ' in the suburb of Bonnyrigg, New South Wales.

Bonnyrigg is home to a vibrant multicultural community which includes Indigenous, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Chinese, Lao, Arabic and Spanish populations. Due to this diverse multicultural community, a visit to Bonnyrigg will allow one to experience not only vastly different cuisines, but also a number of sacred traditions. It is for this reason that Taste Food Tours regards this suburb as an 'undiscovered foodie heaven'.

In order to fully appreciate all that Bonnyrigg has to offer, Taste Food Tours have put together a one of a kind experience which will take tour participants to some very well known Bonnyrigg attractions, such as the magnificent Buddhist Temples and Bonnyrigg Turkish Mosque, as well as some lesser known attractions, such as restaurants, cafes, grocery shops and cultural clubs which are often frequented by locals.

Whilst Taste Food Tours are designed to show tour participants the best local places to shop and eat, this particular tour goes one step further as it offers a unique insight into different cuisines and faiths. The tour is completely interactive as tour participants will enjoy tasting sessions in various shops and eateries and will also visit a host of Bonnyrigg attractions with an informative guide. The tour group will also have lunch together in a local eatery and all tour participants will receive a sample bag to collect various goodies along the way.

The tour is great to do with family and friends and children are welcome to come along. If you are interested in taking part in the tour, it is recommended that tickets are pre-purchased. Ticket prices are as follows;

Adult Tour Ticket: $80.00
Child Tour Ticket (5 - 12 years): $50.00
Seniors: $64.00

Profit from the ticket sales is reinvested back into the community as Taste Food Tours generate income for local businesses and create training and employment opportunities. The ticket price covers the cost of the tour, lunch and a goodies bag. To make a booking, please visit the Taste Food Tours website and follow the prompts.

The tour itself starts at 10:30am and will run through until 2:30pm on Saturday, the 23rd of March - it is a one-off event. If you can't make it, have a browse of the other tours offered by Taste Food Tours - there are currently several cultural food tours running up until July 2013.

It is also worth noting Taste Food Tours also offer exclusive group bookings for corporate team building events and personal celebrations. For details, please email [email protected]
