Authentic Indigenous foods by Chef Zack Green
There are two food-based events on in consecutive days and these are Food Brings Us Together and Food Draws Us Together.


Fremantle will celebrate One Day in Fremantle and Moore & Moore, Fervor and Chef Zach Green are putting on a meal which will showcase indigenous food, art and culture.

Also on offer will be live art and entertainment, and you will be served some of the tastiest bush tucker you've ever had. There will also be stories and connections behind each dish which will make it very interesting indeed.

This is a not for profit event, and all proceeds will be going to the Elijah's Foundation. Elijah's Foundation is a foundation that gives support to young indigenous chefs across Australia. It was formed to provide assistance with such things as helping out with school fees, knife kits, and uniforms. Elijah's Foundation is based around Chef Zach Green's ambition in seeing more indigenous chefs in our hospitality industry.

You will be able to indulge yourselves in a cultural learning and dining experience which is sure to be fascinating. Indigenous food has become increasingly popular in Australian cooking, with bush tucker featured on menus around the country, but what about the stories behind that food?

Elderflower crunch

Every billabong, every beach, every forest track has its own stories to tell us - stories about people, about culture, about food. Stories that these people share every day, but that so many of us do not get the chance to hear. Organisers say they "know that food is the great connector in all human life".

You will also hear how this food is collected or caught, how it's prepared and eventually shared. You can also share in those stories in the spirit of promoting positive images of Indigenous Australians and learning about their ancient knowledge that has cared for this land for so long.

The night will start off with a traditional smoking ceremony, followed by snacks, six courses and some "petit fours". There will also be wines from Brave New Wines included with dinner.

This will be a degustation and it will be honouring indigenous food and traditions. Tickets are limited, so book now, otherwise there will be some last minute tickets available at the door.

Chef Zach Green, is an Indigenous Chef with a dream - Zach wants to take and define Australian indigenous food to the rest of the world. Zach is proud of his aboriginal heritage and launches a movement to celebrate and share Australian native cuisine through the restaurants where he works, as well as the chef schools where he teaches.

Elijah's Foundation, as mentioned above, offers support to young indigenous people that want to become chefs and it allows them to reach their goal.

Moore & Moore now has a reputation as a supplier of quality, wholesome, healthy food and drinks that also taste excellent. They use only the highest quality, freshest ingredients and products from the best local suppliers. Their staff are always encouraged to use their creativity to bring you unusual new dishes and drinks which continues to make their menu different from mainstream cafes and restaurants.
