Welcome to the days when Joanie loved Chachi, Pinky Tuscadero rocked full leather and The Fonz made the girls swoon. Standing at the threshold, the tone is set - plush red booths, sexy mood lighting and the iconic hits from the 50s and 60s fill the air. I am instantly aware of American memorabilia tastefully decorated throughout the bar, adding to the sense of nostalgia.

Split into two levels, we head down stairs. There are more booths and the mood lighting creates intimate spaces to sit and linger. If you're after more privacy there are booths framed in lush red velvet curtains available to shut the world away.

A bar on each level offers a range of drinks and themed cocktails to tempt the palate. If you're into your whisky, they hold around 45 different varieties. Being a gin drinker myself, I noticed the bar stocked with a good selection that extended outside of the standard Tanqueray, Bombay and Hendricks.

We arrived pretty early on a Thursday night and enjoyed the benefit of happy hour! After an end of work red wine, we ordered food. I ordered the southern fried chicken burger - big enough to require two hands to hold and saucy enough to end up wearing it on my face! But it only goes to show my enjoyment of the eating experience.

I loved the place. Tastefully themed and mixed with sexy lighting, makes it a great venue to chill with friends or head to for a first date. The staff were friendly, the music great and it has a lively yet intimate ambience. A definite recommendation.
