Fonda Mexican Restaurant

A newcomer to Melbourne, I love exploring the city and sourrounds by day and night, finding bargains, learning new things, the great outdoors and Melbourne life in general.

Worth the queue
You'll often see a line forming at Fonda Mexican in Richmond and for good reason.

The service is speedy, the portions large, the food tasty and the margaritas, served in a jam jar, are very refreshing.

The ingredients are fresh and you can really notice this. Whilst you'll find the usual Mexican staples on offer, such as burritos, tacos and quesadillas, they all have a twist, be it the pineapple, quinoa or pickled cactus. The guacamole is a must try.

It's a small restaurant and gets pretty crowded with groups celebrating special occasions as well as couples and families. It's fairly cheap, you can get two courses and a drink for around $30.

A new branch has just opened on Chapel Street so I'll be sure to check this out, too.
