Traditional hot pot meets sushi train
If cheap and cheerful is what your after, FOF Rotary Hotpot is certainly a find. As Melbourne's only hot pot train, it offers an all-you-can-eat experience without breaking the bank.

FOF Rotary Hotpot is what you get when you cross a traditional hot pot restaurant with s sushi train style concept.

FOF Rotary Hot Pot is located on Victoria Street in Abbotsford.

Come in, grab your seat at the bar and choose your hot pot broth (miso, tom yum, kimchi, etc). While you wait for your broth to arrive, head over to the Sushi bar area where you can choose from a small variety of sushi, fried rice, Japanese pancakes and more.

Return to your waiting hot pot broth and let the fun begin. The rotary 'train' concept is exactly like that at a sushi train, just relax and let the food come to you. You'll find a huge variety of ingredients to customise your own hot pot.

With so many ingredients to choose from, you can create your favourite dish.

On the hot pot train you'll find everything you'd expect from freshly cut vegetables to thinly sliced meats, fish, tofu, wontons, you'll even find (if your game to try them) chicken hearts, tripe and more.

In addition to what's on the train, you can choose from a menu of ingredients to order for your hot pot including chicken, lamb, prawns, etc.

Enjoy both hot pot as well as a selection of sushi from the sushi buffet

We arrive early on a Friday night (around 6:30) and we were lucky enough to beat the crowd and get a few photos before it was too busy and before we left at 7:30 there wasn't a spare seat in the house! The good news is that they take bookings, you can even book via SMS.

For an all you can eat experience, the price is certainly reasonable, on weekends, a lunch buffet is priced at $25.50 or dinner any other night of the week is priced at $28.80 per person.

FOF Rotary Hot Pot is ideal if you're dining alone or with a group of mates.

With the buzzing atmosphere, it's a great place to pop in for lunch if your dining alone as you won't feel lonely and (what we recommend) is making a booking for one of the few booths that can seat 4 and come as a group to share a giant hot pot in the middle of your table. The bigger hot pots allow your group to chose two different types of broth (one on each side of the pot) so everyone can enjoy their favourite ingredients.

The service is friendly and attentiveness, you'll get exactly the dish you wanted and the price is certainly reasonable, it's a win all around!
