Join the Friends in Maintaining a Great Community Reserve
When we first moved to Adelaide, one of my favourite places to a take a relaxing stroll was the Cobbler Creek Reserve. I still enjoy a gentle stroll through the reserve now and then and it is lovely to experience the rewards of work done by the Friends of Cobbler Creek.
The FOCCERS (Friends of Cobbler Creek) are dedicated to the survival of the Recreation Park and have been actively working in the Park since 1990. As a community-based volunteer organisation, they work to plant native seedlings, collect seeds, remove rubbish, control weeds, maintain the walking trails and engage with the community.
The Friends are hosting a Native Garden Blitz on Sunday 27 May 2018 from 10 am to 12 pm to establish a native display garden next to the Kites and Kestrels play space located on the corner of Bridge Road and Smith Road, Salisbury East.
Aimed at preparing the garden for planting in June and July, the Blitz will focus on arranging rocks and logs, building a rock terrace and planning.
