Cobbler Creek Recreation Park is quietly nestled between and meanders its way around the leafy suburbs of Golden Grove and Salisbury. The park is a peaceful place to wander through and unwind from city life and is popular with walkers and mountain bike riders.
For those who are intrigued and love ruins, it is home to a number of fabulous ruins such as the
Teakle Ruins along with an abundance of birds, bees and butterflies.
The
Friends of Cobbler Creek (FOCCERS) are an amazing group of people who are passionate about the environment and dedicated to preserving the beauty of the Cobbler Creek Recreation Park.
On Sunday 24 June 2018 from 10 am to 12 pm, come along to the new garden adjacent to the Kites and Kestrels Play Space, corner of Bridge Road and Smith Road, Salisbury East and join the FOCCERS in planting a new display garden designed to attract more
birds, bees and butterflies . This is a FREE event.
There will be heaps of activities to join in. Plant a native in the garden and go into the draw to win a Ladybug or Owl Kite from Free as a Bird Kites. You will need to be present at the draw at 11.30 am to win.
Make a wattle crown or butterfly collage with Kate Hubmayer from Nature Crafts for Aussie Kids. Or maybe see, touch and learn about bugs with Bugs'n'Slugs.
Head to the Bush Classroom for some nature spotting; come search the park for bugs, butterflies and birds. You can even take home your own native plant, local to the area to attract birds, bees and butterflies to your own garden for just $2 a plant. Plants supplied by Kersbrook Landcare Nursery.
For just $10 per year, you can join the FOCCERS and follow your passion for Cobbler Creek. If you would like to join complete and submit the Membership Form with the fee and enjoy giving back to the community.
Meets are held the first Tuesday of every second month (February, April, June, August, October) at 7 pm at the Salisbury East Neighbourhood Centre, 28 Smith Road, Salisbury East.
