A family day out with giant whale, bear & dolphin kites
Flying High in the Googong Sky is a free kite event held at Duncan Fields, in the township of Googong. The town of Googong is a new residential area located south-east of Canberra's CBD. From the city it takes 25 minutes to get to this new area, however it is only 20 minutes from Tuggeranong's southern suburbs and 10 minutes from Queanbeyan.

This Sunday join thousands of locals in enjoying the spectacular with a giant whale, dragon and dolphin kite and many others including a grub and teddy bear! This event will be held between 11am - 2pm, however stay for awhile and have a BBQ, fly your own kite or play in Googong's brand new playgrounds. In particular Duncan Fields has three small inbuilt trampolines and new equipment that the kids will enjoy. Just a short drive away is also Love Grove Park (in Hale Street) - another brand new playground and favourite in the area.
