Doesn't everyone understand the therapeutic benefits of chicken soup? It must be "real' chicken soup, and for some of us, it must have the Jewish heritage ingredient of unleavened Matzo-meal balls to be legitimate therapy.

Now, in Adelaide that has been hard to find. For a long time, it was an occasional special on Adelaide's premier 'New York' delicatessen, the Flying Fig's menu.

Not so any longer. It has made the magical transition to the main everyday menu and can be consumed any day, well, any day you can find a seat at The Flying Fig. The Flying Fig has become one of Adelaide's most popular venues, especially on weekends when patrons must sometimes queue for a seat. Bookings are advised even on weekdays for this unique North Adelaide icon.

Owner Paul Serafin smokes, cure and roasts all his own smallgoods, which include brisket, pastrami and lox (cured salmon). Like all good cafes, the food is a figurehead of royalty and customer service is paramount. This is all accompanied by a select group of wines and outstanding coffee.
