Author Gilberto Marsical's book Flowy: An Illustrated Book For Kids About Friendship, illustrated by Chuwy, begins with well-behaved Lucy at a park with her mother. Lucy asks if she may have a flower. After getting approval, Lucy chooses a sad looking flower and names the flower Flowy, a soon-to-be close companion. The special flower receives a place on a window sill. The two love spending time together, even on Lucy's 4th birthday. However the day after, Lucy plays with her new toys and does not spend time with Flowy. Flowy weeps and withers, which Lucy's mother notices and brings to Lucy's attention. The little girl cries herself to sleep, so hard that her tears bring Flowy back to life! From then on, the two are reunited.

The plot is about true friendship. The pace is understandable for a beginner. The action is about love and companionship. The characters are believable, as really even adults in real-life talk to plants. To me, the themes are about true friendship, love, companionship, and responsibility. The illustration is really cute.
