A great selection of flowers at reasonable prices
When there are so many florists around the Camberwell and Hawthorn areas, why would you go to Flowers by Van Gogh, situated at 5 Mayston Street, Hawthorn East? Because the flowers are bargain priced! Business Director Tony Pavlou has set up a business model that basically offers a great range of flowers to the public, at wholesale prices. How about $5 per bunch for these beautiful roses?

Housed in what looks more like a market than a store, Flowers by Van Gogh has a vast floor space, providing the opportunity to offer customers a wide range of flowers. There's also a cool room, into which customers are welcome to wander. Having this facility helps to ensure flowers stay at their freshest.

As well as cut flowers, there are potted plants (primarily flowering plants like Phalaenopsis orchids), and a range of pots and vases for sale. Large Phaleonopsis, including a lovely glass pot, are selling for $55, and would make a perfect gift.

I chatted with Tony Pavlou when I recently visited the store. Tony recognises that buying flowers is an 'emotional purchase'. People buy flowers to add a dash of colour to their house, to brighten their spirits, to congratulate someone, or as a romantic gesture. He is keen to be able to offer affordable flowers to all at this 'one-stop flower shop'.

While this is a largely a 'no-frills' business, the staff will mix and wrap bunches of flowers on request. There are also a small number of pre-mixed bouquets on offer; the ones I saw were $10 per bunch, and I'm sure any recipient would be happy to receive them.
Give Flowers by Van Gogh a try for all your floral needs.
