Need plants, pots, fertilizer or just a cup of coffee and peaceful place to sit? Flower Power Enfield is in a prime location on Mitchell Street, just off Burwood Road and across from Henley Park.

Walking through the main doors, I saw the most beautiful outdoor arrangements, settings, cushions and everything you need to make the outside of your home look spectacular.

Christmas decorations hung in one section, the Zen garden with a beautiful statue of Buddha in another, then the more contemporary or soft styles of white and pale blue. It was so beautiful. There was an upstairs, gazebo shaped area with chimes as well as your usual sprays, hoses, bug killers, and seeds. Really cute little things for encouraging young ones to start gardening, or just keeping them occupied while you're in the garden.

After my fascination with the pretty outdoor furniture and accessories came a visit to Café Belle Fleur. It was Sunday morning and my daily double shot extra hot skim latte was overdue. While standing at the counter I noticed a flourless, gluten free Persian orange cake. Well, it was Sunday! It doesn't take much to tempt me, so I ordered it.

The cake came with cream or ice-cream. I went with the ice-cream. It was served warm, it melted on my tongue and had a strong orange taste with bits of rind to truly set it off. Decorated with toffee, it was delicious. I really enjoyed the soft texture and strong flavours with my coffee.

Just to make our morning more memorable, we sat outside by the Avery and watched the children torment the cockatoos.

The outdoor nursery had everything you could possibly need in one huge area, from basil to tomatoes, bloomers to Roses, lemon trees, apple trees and even had avocado trees. They had it all.

A chair hung on a stand, perfect for my lounge room (who said it has to go outside?) I could see myself in this chair curled up, snug and watching TV. Perfect.

There were a few separate gazebos filled with furniture, ornaments and some very good ideas for decorating your back yard. I loved the fountain they had in the back. Too big for a garden, unless you live in a mansion, but just right for the oversized shed it was displayed in. There were two little boys supervised by 'dad' playing with the water in the fountain. They were way too cute and very friendly, having a play while waiting for mum.

Walking up from the shed past the enormous plant pots, my nose wasn't very pleased by the odour of the very interestingly named fertilizer called 'Dino Fert'. Quite hilarious really. Does it take one dinosaur to fill a bag? Good name for some solid stuff.

I was lucky enough to meet Chris, the weekend manager and qualified landscaper who took me over to the 'landscaping shed' where he does most of his business.

They had piles of sand and rubble sitting in the bulk yard, including Kakadu Turf that is exclusive to Flower Power, and they also had a lot of good ideas for your landscaping needs.

It was quite interesting to visit this place. I didn't think that a garden centre would have so much to offer, especially the landscaping section with employees that are very knowledgeable about their products.

The bonus was that it is set up so beautifully that I felt inspired to try and grow something.
