Are you a big fan of The Mamas and the Papas? The Mamas and the Papas were an American folk rock vocal group that recorded and performed from 1965 to 1968, reuniting briefly in 1971. They released five studio albums and seventeen singles, six of which made the top ten, and sold close to 40 million records worldwide.
The group was composed of John Phillips (19352001), Canadian Denny Doherty (19402007), Cass Elliot (19411974), and Michelle Phillips née Gilliam (b. 1944). Their sound was based on vocal harmonies arranged by John Phillips, the songwriter, musician, and leader of the group who adapted folk to the new beat style of the early sixties. They were the first group to knock The Beatles from the number one spot on the Billboard charts!

Well, Flowerchildren, the exciting Green Room Award-Winning musical tells the turbulent story of The Mamas and The Papas, and explores the distrust, dangerous passions and complex entanglements that lay behind their spectacular rise to fame.
Presented by Davine Interventionz (the team behind multi award winning 2014 Adelaide Fringe hit "Xanadu", written by AVI Award winner Peter Fitzpatrick) Flowerchildren will featuring the songs of The Mamas and The Papas. with Aaron Joyner as the musical interpolations and arranger.
