What could be better than an hour on a Thursday evening spent sipping wine, nibbling on cheese and chocolate delicacies, and listening to some sweet saxophone music? The latest event by Floating Melodies is celebrating Aussie Wine Month this Thursday, May 7th by bringing McLaren Vale to the city. It's sounding like an unmissable chance to enjoy the last of the autumnal weather before winter hits.

It's great to see Adelaide finally taking advantage of the Popeye boats and beautiful River Torrens. The tasters are taken on a mini-tour of Adelaide's major river. In about 10 minutes, you feel like you've completely left the hustle and bustle and are in calm, quiet bush land. Returning treats you to sights of the brightly lit Adelaide city-scape, including the new footbridge and Adelaide Oval. It's a real stunner.

During the mini-tour, tasters are treated to wines from premium McLaren Vale winery, Scarpantoni . The award-winning Scarpantoni range of wines includes crisp dry Sauvignon Blancs, Chardonnays and Rosé, as well as full bodied Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and fortified wines. Classic McLaren Vale.



Other McLaren Vale favourites on board will be chocolate tastings with Chocolat by Daniela who will be presenting two of her chocolates made with McLaren Vale wine infusions, and cheese platters and fondue from B.-d. Farm Paris Creek , with even more to still be confirmed.

While you're putting on your classy hat and living the high life, you'll be serenaded by the Rhapsodie Saxophone Quartet . This Uni of Adelaide trained saxophonist group is a perfect addiction to such a seductive set of elements.

Tickets are $38.50 and available on dramatix . It's a one time only chance to enjoy McLaren Vale like this, although Floating Melodies are often putting on interesting events so keep an eye on their page.
