Outdoor sculpture exhibitions are always a treat whenever they come to town. Some are held every year and some spots along the Coast are lucky to have a bit of unique art all year around. So make sure you swing by Floating Land, because it only happens once every two years.

Welcome to Floating Land

The biennial event, one of Australia's leading green art events, is coming to Boreen Point in the UNESCO-listed Noosa Biosphere.

The program will include presentations, installations, workshops and performances, all based on the theme of 'Nature's Dialogue'. The full artist list for 2013 has been announced - expect to see the likes of Andrew Vievers, Elizabeth Poole, Artmakers Noosa and many more over the 10 days. If you can't make it, don't sweat. An extensive virtual format has been developed so anyone can be involved. Check in here for more.

The festival will also host Balance-Unbalance, an international conference designed to use art as a catalyst to explore intersections between nature, science, technology and society. Anyone interested in attending can register here.

As mentioned above the theme this year is 'Nature's Dialogue.' The great thing about this exhibition and art in general is just how the variety of artists involved will come up with something completely unique to each other. Guaranteed no two bits of art out there will even remotely resemble the others. Organisers say this year's theme is about using the inspiration of nature for innovation in the creative industries, science, technology and culture.

Prepare yourself for days of concentrated cultural and environmental activity suitable for all ages. Floating Land only happens once every two years. Who know where you'll be in 2015? Make sure you swing by Boreen Point at least once during the 10 day festival.
