Where is a good place to stop for coffee and cake when you are on a road trip through the Lockyer Valley?

Easy! The Floating Cafe at 2 Harris Street, Grantham has a varied menu of home-cooked treats to entice your tastebuds, a hot coffee for a cold day, as well as a story to tell.

Why the strange name? It's a cheeky poke at the 2011 floods that swept through Grantham. The cafe was actually torn from its foundations and came to rest alongside a nearby Jacaranda tree. It was only able to reopen for business after extensive refurbishment and restumping.

You'll also find a range of local produce available for purchase. Take my tip and don't go home without a jar of bush honey - it's delicious!

Hours of business are as follows:
Saturday 7:30am–3pm
Sunday 7:30am–3pm
Monday 7am–3pm
Tuesday Closed
Wednesday 7am–3pm
Thursday 7am–3pm
Friday 7am-3pm

Isn't it amazing the number of little gems you find when you take a road trip to escape the city!
