Join the team from the Murraylands Regional Tourist Association and Canoe the Coorong at the SA Wooden Boat Festival for a "pop-up" come and try canoeing Floatfest event.

It's the perfect time of year and the perfect excuse to get out on the water with the expert team from Canoe the Coorong for some canoeing fun! April is one of the best times of the year to get out on the water because the weather is still warm and the wind conditions are spot on!

The pop-up event will be held at Bristow Smith Reserve Nature Playspace on the banks of the river with come and try canoe workshops on from 10am - 11am, 12 noon - 1pm and 3pm - 4pm. At 2pm, Floatfest will be conducting their famous canoe count to see how many canoe enthusiasts they can get on the water at once! Add in some lessons on how to wear your life jacket correctly, basic paddling skills and a canoe obstacle course and you've got the perfect recipe for on water fun!

Bristow Smith Reserve Nature Playspace features a 10-metre long restored wooden fishing boat, parkour elements, water play with a creek bed, sensory wall, climbing nets, basket swings and stepping logs, along with an upgraded beach area, barbecues and shelters. It's the ideal spot to come and try canoeing with the family amid all the fun and history of the Wooden Boat Festival!

Entry to the wooden boat festival is FREE but Floatfest asks for only a gold coin donation to take part in the workshops/count which will all go back to their charity partner - CanDo 4Kids.

Floatfest at the Wooden Boat Festival is on Sunday 28th April from 10am - 4pm.

*Please Note: no official record attempts for this event, come and play at the Purnong Water Regatta October 19th - 20th, 2019.
