Float and restore your well being

Float Swan Valley opened its doors in September 2018. It is a family run business and the vision of mother and daughter team, Jaci and Phoebe Farrell.

If you are looking for relaxation with the ultimate in luxury and pampering, look no further!

There is a feeling of opulence everywhere, nothing more than you would expect being situated within the grounds of The Novotel Vines Resort and Country Club.

From the minute you walk through the door, you will begin to relax with the wonderful smell of essential oils.

There are two rooms, each with a Dreampod; one pristine white they have named 'Snow' and the other, the first Black V2 Dreampod in Western Australia, 'The Stealth'.

Floatation therapy is an effective and yet incredibly simple way to boost your health and happiness. It is a type of sensory deprivation treatment that is achieved by floating in an enclosed pod (filled with 600 litres of magnesium salt-saturated water) that cuts off all sensory experiences. It is perfect for those that would like the benefits of meditation, but are unable to 'switch off' under normal conditions. This is my issue and why I decided to give it a go.

Once you enter your chosen room (I chose to float in 'Snow'), you need to shower to remove all creams, oils, deodorants etc off your skin and in your hair. All products are complimentary and are sourced from Earth Products, who I am familiar with and are wonderful natural products made in the Swan Valley. This was a lovely surprise as I love Earth Products and it gave me the opportunity to try their shampoo and conditioner before buying it (I've always wondered if I would like it and now I know I do!).

Earplugs are supplied as well as a 'halo' float to help with extra support for your head if needed. There is also a water bottle spray in the pod in case you get the salt water in your eyes.

There is a big button for the pod's chakra coloured lighting, so you can float in total darkness if you want to.

You can float naked or in bathers. I would suggest at least bikini bottoms as the salt can irritate sensitive areas (I will say no more!)

I was unsure whether I would really float as I have never done anything like this before. So on pulling down the hood of the pod, the soft, relaxing music started and I cautiously lay down, and as if by magic, I was totally floating. I felt really buoyant.

I tried with the lights on and off and preferred them off; darkness was better for me and gave me total sensory deprivation.

The music only lasts for five minutes and it comes back on five minutes before the hour is up.

I cannot tell you where the hour went or even if I went to sleep. I was aware the music had stopped and I clearly totally relaxed as I couldn't believe the music started again and the hour was almost up.

You shower again after to rinse all the salt off your body and out of your hair.

After you are dressed, you can make your way to the bathroom outside the pod rooms and can freshen up with more complimentary toiletries. They have thought of everything as a hairdryer is provided too. You can literally rock up with no preparation and enjoy a float as they provide absolutely everything you need.

Before and after your flotation therapy, you can rehydrate with complimentary water.

Rehydrate after your float

I thought I would feel lethargic after but it was the opposite, I had a spring in my step, any stress was busted and I felt fantastic.

Did I think it was beneficial? Yes
Would I do it again? Yes
Would I recommend Float Swan Valley? Absolutely. Jaci and Pheobe are so lovely, friendly and helpful. They definitely add to the whole experience.

You can have a one-off float or choose from the many packages they have on offer. You can also become a member and your membership will give you discounted regular floats which are good value for money. Click here for more information.
