You've seen the sign and the stairs going down.

Have you ever wondered what's down there? Have you ever wanted to go down those stairs and see for yourself? Here are 8 reasons why you should:

Corky Saint Clair
This shop is a wonderland of one-of-a-kind, handmade trinkets and jewellery. The artist uses a variety of materials, including metal and wood, and the designs are both quirky and funky, like Alice in Wonderland meets Emily Strange.

Lo-Life Skater
For the skater who wants to look unique. Or the skate aficionado who just wants to look legit.

Some Like it Hot
Subject to Change
The Cat's Meow

If you love fashion but don't want to look like everybody else, these shops are worth checking out. Take your pick between vintage or retro or one-of-a-kind designs that are anything but faddish. These are for the fashionistas who prefer to set the trends rather than follow them.

The Sticky Institute
They say that print media is dying because the digital age has taken over, but this shop says otherwise because the 'zine culture is very much alive and well here. Drop by and have a flip-through.

Wax Museum Records
I have always believed that music sounds special and different when played on vinyl. That's why I was so happy to discover that there are also other people who feel the same way. If you're like that as well, come on over and check out their collection.

Cup of Truth
All that walking around the shops might make you a little tired, so if you'd like a cup of fortifying brew, just a few paces away is this tiny stall-by-the-wall that serves a really good cup of coffee, made by its very own charming and friendly proprietor. No kidding.

Finally, with your brew in hand, have a seat on one of the benches along the walls and enjoy the contemporary artworks on display. They reflect just how artistically rich this city is - that even underground, there abounds creativity.

I think it's Sticky Institute rather than "Stinky" ;-)http://www.stickyinstitute.com/

Hey, I'm pretty sure it's called the "sticky" institute :)

Yes, Steph and Daywalker, you're both right! It is "Sticky". I overlooked this one. Thanks for pointing that out!
