Flinders Street Market on Australia Day
It is Australia Day long weekend. As a public holiday you might find a lot of things are shut, everyone is having a BBQ or celebrating at the beach, but the folks at Flinders Street Markets are as enthusiastic and keen as any other weekend! So grab your tote bags and head down to the popular blue shed for some shopping fun.
Held at the blue shed on Flinders Street, right across from The German Club, the Flinders Street Markets have been Adelaide's go to place when you are looking for something handmade, an original gift or a unique item for your home. The makers and stallholders are all friendly, creative souls, who enjoy selling their lovingly made goodies on weekends.
Coffee, candles, fruit and vegetables, organic food, clothes, vintage, chocolate, jewellery and handmade crafts and arts are all displayed in a chilled space Buskers add some atmosphere outside the shed with their tunes as coffee makers scent the shed with toasty sweet aromas. It is a family friendly space, a great first date venue and the perfect spot to take tourists to explore Adelaide's craft and art scene.
