If you are looking for an escape, this is the place. Flinders Jetty is a calm yet scenic location situated close to the southern tip of the Mornington Peninsula. Surrounded by natural coastlines, cliffs and ocean beaches it is a calm and relaxing change to the hustle and bustle of city life.
The Jetty is well known for the squid caught especially during the warmer months around September to December. Other species have also been known to travel through the waters off this jetty including King George whiting, Australian Salmon, Silver Trevally, Leatherjackets, Barracouta and many more.
If you are looking for something slightly more romantic, Flinders Jetty is one of the best locations to watch the sunrise and sunset. However make sure you plan ahead and check for exact times as you wouldn't want to miss out!
Located right besides the Jetty and coastline, Bass park offers barbecues, walking trails and a playground for the kids. It also provides incredible views down to the Flinders Jetty and across the Western Port. Perfect for a day trip away with the whole family. There are plenty of free parking spaces and public toilets available on site.
Other attractions close by include the Flinders Golf Course for those who are looking for some activity, the Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary, Mornington Peninsula National Park and the Blowhole. Approximately 12 kilometres away is the historic Cape Schanck lighthouse, another popular attraction situated on the rocky shores of the peninsula.
