Event:
Sometimes all you need is a good girls' night out!

And that's easy with Flicks with the Chicks - an event run by Village Cinemas. They hold the event around suitable movies and I was lucky enough to attend the Flicks with the Chicks event for Magic Mike XXL at Crown Melbourne.

Magic Mike XXL is everywhere!

You feel quite special as there is a photobooth set up in the foyer with some life-size images of Channing Tatum and the whole cast. They also have some fun props on the side like sparkly hats, glasses and an Instagram photo frame.

If you jumped onto the hashtag of #FlicksWithTheChicks, you had the photos you personally posted printed into little polaroids to pick up at the end of the show.

On the way in we were given some more special treatment to ensure we had a fun girly night. Our goodies included some sparkling, chocolate and Simone Perele vouchers. I mean, what's a girls' night without chocolate?

They mentioned there would be some "pre-show entertainment" and at first, we had a little quiz on Magic Mike trivia and giveaways. I thought perhaps that was it but how very wrong I was.

The men who I assumed were staff suddenly ran to the front, unbuttoned their shirts and started dancing. They danced up the stairs through the crowd. We were seated in an Xtreme screen cinema, so it was quite large - and they went into the audience to grab some ladies and bring them up to the front.

This included my friend who I had brought along - she was brought to the front and got into the spirit and danced too!

All the ladies in the cinema had their phones out and were cheering the dancers on. It was a great little surprise to add to the atmosphere before the popular Magic Mike sequel.

Look out for the next event!

The movie is about a group of male entertainers gathering for their last performance together, whilst grappling with their desire to do other things that they love in life.

It received a good reaction from the girls - especially when Channing Tatum was on screen. A very suitable flick to watch with your girlfriends!

When the movie finished, my friend noticed a Magic Mike shot glass on her armchair. She wasn't sure when or how it got there and if it was for her dancing or just random, but it added to our pile of goodies!

We also picked up our Instagram photos on the way out, a nice little way to remember the night.

If you're interested in grabbing your girlfriends for a fun night out where you don't have to organise anything - this is it! Standard tickets are $25 and includes a sparkling at Crown Cinemas.

If you want to go all out, then there is a Gold Class package for $69.50 per person. This includes a three course meal and goodie bag too!

The next event will be held on July 29 around a new movie called Trainwreck - from the directors of Bridesmaids, so it's sure to be hilarious.
