The very best of the world's bite-sized films
Flickerfest is Australia's premiere international short film festival and runs for just over a week of each year at Bondi. In 2014, the event will be taking place from Friday January 10 to Sunday January 19, after which the festival will take to the road on its annual tour of Australia.
There will be screenings of both international and local films during the festival, with only 100 of the 2200 entries making the cut. These films will be shown in 21 different programmes, including five international sessions, six Australian sessions, two documentary sessions, one environmentally-themed GreenFlicks competition and FlickerUp, which consists of films from Australian school students.

As well as these competition programmes there's also FlickerClips, a music video showcase, and FlickerKids, for the children. Also included in the festival is a programme of Comedy Shorts, a late night programme of Weird & Wacky Shorts, and Celebrity Shorts. You can find the full programme here.

In addition to the films, also running during the festival is FlickerLab, a one day intensive workshop for filmmakers set to run on Friday January 17. The workshop covers both short films and feature films and gives participants access to experts, knowledge and trends in the film industry today. The key director this year will be director David Mich˘d , while other industry figures are also involved. Flickerlab will run from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
Tickets to Flickerfest can be bought either online at Moshtix or at the Flickerfest box office at Bondi Pavilion, from an hour before each session. These sessions typically take place at one of four times; 2.30pm 4.30pm and 6.30pm, which screen in the indoor theatre, and 8.45pm in the outdoor amphitheatre (seating is provided).
The types of tickets available include Single Session Tickets, which cost $18.00 (excluding FlickerKids and the opening and closing screenings and parties), a 3 Session Pass for $50.00 and a Season Pass for $150.00. Additional booking fees (usually $2.00) apply if get them online. Concession tickets are also available.
