Just like Tropfest. If you are into a variety of different films (not necessarily those that can be seen at Hoyts or Event Cinemas) then you are in luck. Flickerfest, presented by ING Direct is one of Sydney's first beach side film festivals presenting a series of the highest quality short films made in Australia as well as around the world. And many critics would say that Flickerfest remains the best (or if not one of the best) beach film festivals in Sydney.

And the location is the winner for many Sydneysiders. That's right, it is at Bondi Beach - home to many sporting and cultural events in Sydney, and it is Sydney's most popular touristy beaches.

Expect to see over 100 short films which made the top cuts (no pun intended.) Once the film festival is completed, Flickerfest tours around Australia with the tour ending around May. This festival has received many different accolades and recognition within the industry as one of the most respected competitions in the film industry as well. Each session goes for around 100 minutes.

The opening party starts at 9pm on the 06/01/12, while the closing party starts at 8:30pm on the 15/01/12 which includes the awards ceremony.

The schedule can be viewed and downloaded on the Flickerfest 2012 website.
