I love slow travel, slow food and discovering new adventures and delicious regional food in new locations. I'm on an indulgent quest and I'd love you to follow at www.walkeatshare.wordpress.com

In recent years, the number of people affected by coeliac disease, wheat allergy or gluten or wheat sensitivity has risen sharply, perhaps due to changing environmental conditions or to modification of our food. More of us are now finding that avoiding gluten results in a happier gut.
On my quest for delicious food that is reliably free from gluten, I stumbled upon The Fleurieu Pantry.
Fleurieu Pantry has always offered fresh local produce and organic juices but management found they were increasingly asked for gluten-free options. Recently, they chose to adopt a 100% gluten-free menu.
I haven't eaten a burger in recent memory, due to my gluten sensitivity, so it was a novel change to choose a 'Worx Burger' with bacon, egg, tomato chutney, baby spinach, tomato, red onion, pickles and Adelaide Hills cheddar on a brioche bun. With a side of sweet potato wedges no less. Guaranteed to be totally gluten-free.
Both dishes were fresh and delicious and so filling that we were able to resist the generous array of gluten-free sweet treats on offer. Of course, now that we know they are there we are planning future return visits.
