Fri 25 Oct 2013 - Sun 27 Oct 2013

Willunga will be alive with the sound of blues, roots, celtic, bluegrass, acoustic and traditional folk music at South Australia's annual Fleurieu Folk Festival. The fun family friendly event is held over three folk-filled days at the Willunga Recreation Park from Friday, October 25 to Sunday, October 27, 2013.

There are over 60 international, interstate and local acts performing at the festival, including Old Man Luedecke, Jordie Lane, The Seals, The Borderers, Squeebz, Siskin River, Danny Spooner, Spiral Dance, The Mae Trio, Jane Thompson, The Shared Affair, The Rainmakers, Lillis, Richard Perso, Neil Adam & Judy Turner, Passionfruit Fools, David Knight, The Timbers, Maggie Rutjens, Bygone Error, John Francis, Kaurna Cronin, Cal Williams & Kory Horwood, Creole Cowboys and many more.

As always, there is a strong focus on youth at the festival with some of the country's best young folk performers appearing. The Young Performers marquee will host 'Young Talent Concerts' and 'Fresh Folk' events to showcase up-and-coming performers.

Children will enjoy the festival too, in particular the Kidz Kaboodle marquee where there will be all kinds of fun entertainment and activities such as face painting, song and dance, instrument making, colouring competitions, children's open mic sessions and much more.

As you can see there is something for everyone, young and not so young, at the Fleurieu Folk Festival. Sit back and listen to all the great performers or get involved yourself by participating in the bush dance, music and dance workshops and open mic and jam sessions. There will be a grand parade and lots of craft, food and market stalls to browse as well.

The festival is open on Friday from 6 pm until midnight, Saturday from 10 am until midnight and Sunday from 10 am until 8 pm. Compared to other music festivals, this one is quite affordable. Entry on Friday costs $20, Saturday costs $35 and Sunday costs $25. Or you can purchase a weekend pass for $60 so you don't miss a moment. Children under the age of 15 years are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets can be purchased online at Dramatix or on the day at the festival ticket office at the main entrance to the Willunga Recreation Park on Main Road.

Make the most of the Fleurieu Folk Festival and spend the weekend in Willunga, which is located approximately 50 kilometres south of Adelaide. There will be a camp site set up adjacent to the festival, which costs $15 per person. There is also a caravan park and several bed and breakfasts nearby, but do book accommodation as soon as possible as it will be a busy weekend in Willunga.
