Mornings in coming weekends could just get a bit more exciting. Hop on for a musical journey along the Melbourne's prime water body.

It will be an hour and half experience on the Yarra River.
This audio based project, called The 5 Short Blasts, will add to your knowledge bank as to how the weather conditions, daily harbour activity, industries and surrounding habitation affect the Docklands. Also get an insight as to how this river has shaped the City of Melbourne and its people.

Boats will pick up audience members from Collins landing in Docklands and Water Plaza at Victoria Harbour, steering them away from the land into the world of ports, jetties, harbour and the hustle and bustle surrounding them. The journey will start at the Victoria Harbour, going through the Port of Melbourne along Yarra River while you listen to the tales and interviews of people who have been closely associated with water either through work or play.

It is a free event. However booking is essential as the electric boats have limited seating. Bookings are now open.

It is surely a welcome opportunity to see Melbourne's waterways from a different perspective and maybe unravel some of its mysteries.
