The Five Little Figs cafe is tucked away on a side street. Located at 52 Devitt Avenue, Payneham South, SA 5070, it is literally a hidden gem. The suburban location offers a retreat from the busy streets and crowded eating areas along the main road.
The menu looked delicious, although the focus was on vegetarian and gluten-free healthy options. I ordered a spinach and fetta toasted focaccia, which turned out to have pumpkin and olive included, making it both nutritious and tasty. Then I shyly requested a cappuccino, half fearing they would advise me to try a herbal option, but not to fear, real tea and coffee were definitely available.
The staff were friendly and obliging, making the overall eating experience very pleasant. For those who crave a little protein, there are sandwich beef options and egg specials. I did not try a cake, but the slices in the server looked delicious, stuffed with fruit and nuts.
