The cooler weather might be moving in on our beloved Melbourne, but there's no need to batten down the hatches just yet.
Chase those winter blues away by taking full advantage of what Victoria's capital city has in store for you over the coming months.
The Wizard of Oz Musical in Melbourne
Follow the yellow brick road all the way to the Regent Theatre to find the Wizard! This highly anticipated musical rendition of the much-loved classic "
The Wizard of Oz" will perform in Melbourne from May to July 2018.
Join Dorothy (Samantha Dodemaide) and her dog Toto as the two friends find themselves lost in the land of Oz after a tornado rips through Kansas. Help the duo find their way to the Emerald City, alongside the Scarecrow (Eli Cooper), the Tin Man (Alex Rathgeber) and the Cowardly Lion (John Xintavelonis).
Watch out for the Wicked Witch of the West (Jemma Rix) and her evil winged monkeys. With any luck, Glinda the Good Witch (Lucy Durack) will help you find the Wonderful Wizard of Oz (Anthony Warlow).

Behind the Scenes Tours at Melbourne Museum
Tap into your inner geologist, scientist or historian at Melbourne Museum this winter, with a series of "behind the scenes" tours on select Thursday evenings.
As a Museum Member, you can book onto any one of the following tours:
17 May – Preparation and Vertebrate Mount Store
See a range of bird and mammal mounts ranging from recently prepared specimens to material acquired during the Museum's early years and enter the Preparators' Workshop to see '
where the magic happens'.
14 June – Geoscience Store and Live Exhibits
Get up close and personal with amazing crystals, meteorites and unusual rocks from Museum Victoria's collection.
You will also meet a selection of fascinating and unusual animals living behind the scenes in the Live Exhibits collection (live spiders, snakes, lizards and other creatures included!)
19 July – Conservation and Vertebrate Wet Store
Visit the Conservators Laboratory and the Vertebrate Wet Store and learn what it takes to be involved in the Museum's Conservation team. It is here you will meet see evidence of the real 'creatures of the deep'; specimens from The Abyss.
16 August – History and Technology and Museum Archives
Wander through our History and Technology collection store where. you will be educated on Melbourne's social history, in a room filled with timeless pieces from the past.
