There are a few main draws of this park. First is the comforting landscaping of the park that comprises of plenty of shade-giving trees as well as a lovely rose garden feature – something that is less of a fixture in parks than it was in the past.
This would be a great place to come for a relaxed stroll and maybe to take a few attractive shots with your family in front of the roses. In fact, the space is available for booking for wedding photography and ceremonies.
Another attraction of this park is the cute picnic area. It is made up of sloping grass with conveniently located barbecues between the covered picnic tables. This area is especially pretty of an afternoon when the sun lowers in the sky.
This park is also home to the Five Dock Skate Park, which is a feature that really sets it apart. The skate park is mostly beneath ground level as it is set into the ground like a bowl, meaning it doesn't detract from the landscaping of the park.
In fact, as you can see this design allows it to merge quite effectively with the surrounds.
At the far end of the park is a large sports ground that is commonly used by the local school and there are public toilets located beneath the grandstand. However, while operational they are in dire need of an upgrade.
There is a bus stop beside the park as well as parking available along the residential streets nearby if you plan to bring your dog. This would also be a perfect place to relax after picking up a cup of coffee or some lunch from Five Dock's main street.
