Food and outdoors go together making our fabulous food markets super fun places to seek and find the 'best tastes' around Brisbane.

Send an invitation out to your friends, inviting them to 'your' favourite market so you can have fun hunting and gathering together. Chat and catch up over a fabulous market food share for breakfast or lunch.

Most markets have grassed or shaded areas in their grounds or nearby, for you to sit, chill and relax with your fresh picks of food, 'picnic style'.

FIVE of the best inner city foodie markets are;

1: Milton Markets
For foodies, farmers and lifestyle
Every Sunday 6am to 12pm. For traditional foods, bakery and pastries, farm direct produce, fresh eggs, deli lines along with craft arts and fashionable pieces.

Location: Cribb Street Milton. Website.

**

2: Davies Park Markets**

Every Saturday from 6am - 2pm. One of my favourite markets packed with colour and character making it great for people watching as well as food hunting. Quality food, produce, coffee and 'things' created by people.& #8232 ;

Location: Jane Street, West End. Website.
**

3: Jan Powers Markets - New Farm**

Every Saturday 6am to 12pm. Can't beat this as one of the 'best market locations' at the Brisbane Powerhouse with New Farm Park on one side and Brisbane River on the other. Relax with coffee and a croissant or crepes. Pack your picnic basket and relax in the park in the shade of a beautiful tree. Stock your weekly pantry with any of the fruit, veges, meats, seafood, small goods, sauces, olives, dips, cakes, bread, fresh herbs, and oils you'll find here.

Location: Brisbane Powerhouse, New Farm. Website .

4: Eat Street Markets
Every Friday and Saturday night 4pm to 10pm. (soon to be on Sundays)

How about inviting your friends to "go dining together" with you for dinner at Eat Street. It's a fuss free and easy alternative to inviting people around to your 'own place' for dinner. No preparation or clean up to do. It's a foodies delight, a colourful environment and multicultural cuisines for choice. Bon Appetite!
Location: 99 MacArthur Ave Hamilton.
Website.

Markets can get very busy so arriving earlier would be in your best interests. Entry to Eat Street Markets $2.50.

5: Northey Street Markets.
These markets represent Permaculture in the heart of Brisbane.
Every Sunday 6am to 11am. A great market for organic produce and groceries. Markets are held in a fairly large space with interesting grounds to wander around. Find Breads, bagels, hot foods, sweets and treats, livestock farmers, fruit and vegetables.
Often looking at new innovations and projects, there are opportunities to become involved. Keep up to date with information from their website.

Location: Northey Street Windsor. Website.

Some time ago I wrote a comprehensive list of Brisbane Markets. . Some will now be out of date but it may help you if you are looking for other options.
