The bar is an amalgamation of seating arrangements. Near said pool table is what we playfully call the Jungle Gym, a display of crate like structures with cushions and bean bags scattered, for laid back lounging while watching the pool table. Then there are the high dark wood tables and stools, the dark leather arm chair and couches, pink velvet chaise lounge, and open booth style tables at the front. Surely a style for everyone's comfort and taste.

The food list contains nibbles, tapas and bigger one person meals. We had an arrangement of nibbles, olives, breads, and meat. The simple things are done well. Baby peppers stuffed with cream cheese, beautifully seasoned grilled chorizo, and marinated olives are just the perfect accompaniment to a mid-afternoon drink.
The beer list is extensive, and the cider list not bad either, especially by Perth standards. The cocktail list is a decent size, and upon trying one, I found it is a serious list indeed. I tried the Maker's Mark and lime cocktail, and it packs a punch. A delicious punch. Described on the menu as "a generous pouring of Maker's Mark over ice", sweetened slightly with sugar, lime, and served in a delightful chilled silver cup. It is the mojito's sophisticated older brother. Superb!

Perhaps one of the best features of this bar, and again, something so simple yet which makes such a difference, is the seat service. No matter where you are sitting, on a couch, on the Jungle Gym, or at a table, you are provided with table service. I don't know about you, but that is one thing I simply love, and find there isn't enough of in Perth. Although, finally, it seems that we are catching up to Europe, where you can get table service just for a coffee, or a drink, or if you fancy, something more.
It took me far too long to discover this gem – yet another Beaufort Street delight – however it won't be long before I return.
