I'm a freelance writer living in Adelaide. A huge passion of mine is visiting different places and exploring what they have to offer. I love capturing my findings in writing :)

What do you feel like eating tonight? Can't decide? Buffet?
I am a big fan of buffet restaurants, mainly because I have fussy little eaters that need to be pleased when they eat out, so when I heard about 'Fishtail Buffet and Restaurant' being the new kid on the block, on the popular 'O'Connell St' strip in North Adelaide it was a must try for our family.

The dining area is lovely. The decor is 'oriental' and it most definitely suits the cuisine style which is made up of Chinese, Singaporean, Indian, Thai and Nepalese.

There is a fairly wide selection of food to choose from. Starters, soups, noodles, rice, a lot of various stir frys, vegetables, salads and desserts.

If you love Indian food then this place has some of the most popular Indian dishes you will try. Your taste buds are bound to get a workout. My personal favourite being the 'Rogan Josh', 'Butter Chicken' and 'Beef Vindaloo'.

However, after a great main meal I look forward to my dessert. I am a fan of all kinds of sweets. Well, what a disappointment in the lack of selection. Tiny cut up pieces of chocolate cake, white chocolate and banana cake. Icecream and a bowl of fruit salad. That's it. I was most definitely expecting so much more for buffet dining. All in all taste wise, simple but yes it did taste good.

This place is nice and family friendly. The staff were great. It even has a play room for the kids. It's nothing fancy but it gives the kids something to do after their meal and they truly enjoy it, while you get to relax and finish your meal.

Honestly, the main food selection at this place was pretty good, if there was a wider selection of desserts it would be even better and while it had a wonderful family atmosphere I'm not convinced that I will return. I think it is slightly over priced for what it is, especially for kids. The price you will pay for a child over 3yrs is $16.45. Adult's price is $32.90 for dinner.

Overall it's worth a visit and you decide whether you will return.

I've been here and it's not very good for buffet as compared to Walker Arms Hotel. Harsh but the food court in the Central Market taste way better than what they're offering.

This buffet is awful and food court food tastes better.
