Yes, you know that there are waterways in New York; after all, you see New York Harbor where the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are located, the East River flows through parts of New York, as does the Hudson and some of the boroughs, as well as Long Island and other areas have beaches.

But, when you look at all the buildings, people, traffic, and everything else that seems to make up the majority of New York City, the prospect of actually being able to fish may seem rather obscure. Sure, you might see people sitting on a wall or pier fishing, but you wonder if you can actually go out into the harbor or on the rivers, or even into the Atlantic Ocean and fish. Well, you can, and there's several fishing charter companies that will let you do just that.

New York City Fishing Charters

This fishing charter company serves Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island, and other surrounding waterways. You can board at different points in these areas, and fish around the Harbor, bays, and a short distance out into the ocean. If you're lucky, you'll catch sea bass and bluefish on your fishing charter trips with New York City Fishing Charters. Even if you don't catch anything, the idea that you went fishing in New York City will be enough to make you enjoy your day.

Island Current Fleet

The Island Current Fleet has a Bronx location, which is easily accessible from New York City via public transportation or a short drive. You can choose from sunset trips, where you'll fish for fluke, or night fishing trips, where you may catch bluefish or striped bass. Day fishing charter service is also available. You'll fish in and around Long Island Sound and New York Harbor, so you'll actually be getting a "two-fer" (two-for-one) deal. You can actually fish and sightsee at the same time, because you'll still be in sight of the fabulous New York skyline.

Long Island Fishing Charters

The Long Island Fishing Charters will take you to the western waters of Long Island Sound. These are protected waters, so you know you'll be fishing in a clean, safe environment. Your fishing trip will take you from the East River where it runs in Manhattan all the way to Connecticut. When you're not fishing, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery that you can see along these waterways.
