Find a fishy friend in a secret aquatic paradise
In Annerley Arcade, down the stairs and out the back is a very unassuming door. It's the entrance to Fishchick Aquatics, which has one of Brisbane's largest ranges of aquarium and fish accessories along with a simply staggering number of fish for purchase.
Once you enter the door, a small area is filled with pumps, feed and all manner of fishy equipment but it's through the next door that will excite you the most! Tanks and tanks of beautiful bettas, goldfish, guppies and loads more are arranged in the dark and damp back room. You can smell muddy earth and could easily feel transported to a river bank.
Jodie-Lea is the spirited and dedicated owner of the store and she will be able to set up new owners with a fishy friend or assist more experienced owners to find special breeds to add to their school. There is what seems to be a never-ending supply of lovely, bright fish to gawk at as you walk around the space and Jodie-Lea can tell you everything you need to know about each and every one.
