Fish Salt is a medium sized takeaway shop with a naval colour scheme and distressed wooden tables and chairs. There's plenty of space inside the restaurant to eat, but I suspect the main appeal the outdoor seating, especially during the summer months.
While the car-park is large and has disability parking, it's a little difficult to get to if you didn't already know how to get there. When driving up the Melton Highway, you need to be in the left-hand lane and you need to notice a petrol station on the left-hand side. You turn into the petrol station, but you turn to the right and drive straight towards a collection of shops. Please be careful at this point because there are two directions of traffic coming through that area.
Image Description: a portion of Blue Grenadier fish, on top of hot chips, with a side of classic garden salad and pasta salad
While the burgers were recommended to me, I decided to go with the Fish Meal Package, which consists of a portion of fish, a portion of salad, and a portion of chips. There was also the other option of a portion of fish, a portion of salad, and a portion of rice instead.
So cost-wise: Blue Grenadier $7.5 Chips and Salad $6 = 13.50
Salmon $10.50 Chips and Salad $6 = $16.50
Salmon $10.50 Rice and Salad $6 = $16.50
All in all, the staff were friendly, the service was quick, and fish was great.
