Gourmet fish and chips
Mongers
Fish Mongers Cafe

If you're on holidays in Byron Bay and wondering where to get the best fish and chips on a Friday night, then Fish Mongers is for you. They serve restaurant quality fish and hand cut chips from a cool venue down a narrow back alley called Bay Lane (just behind the Beach Hotel). Their location is not far from the main beach, should you wish to order take away and dine overlooking the ocean, from whence your fish came.

Fish Mongers Cafe

As you can imagine, this gourmet fish cafe gets quite busy during peak hour, so you have the option of phoning ahead to order. In any case, it's a fun place to people watch while you await your delicious meal. They serve fresh local produce without the grease and gunk. Fish Mongers also have Kids' Meals, freshly shucked oysters, BBQ octopus, calamari and crispy salad options. All in all, I found Fish Mongers to be a fish shop like no other (apart from their Manly and Bondi Beach branches that is).
