As someone always on the lookout for gluten-free fish and chips, I was impressed by both the quality of the batter and the variety of gluten-free food available. The batter on my flake was crunchy, but not hard, enclosing a fillet that was both chunky and tender. My pumpkin cake had a clear layer of deliciously rich pumpkin that was thick enough to stand out and be supported by the batter, rather than being overwhelmed by it. In addition to several gluten-free fish options, there were also gluten-free chicken nuggets, steak, battered chicken breast, prawns, scallops, and dippy dogs. They even do gluten-free apple, pineapple and banana fritters for dessert. The serving size was generous, with minimum chips being more than enough for two adults. All of the gluten-free food is cooked in a separate fryer.

FACT is an award-winning fish and chip shop. It came runner up for best fish and chips in South Australia in 2009 and was voted best fish and chips in the Limestone Coast People's Choice award in 2014. It also has had celebrity endorsement with a photo hanging on the wall of a smiling Guy Sebastian looking very satisfied with his order of fish and chips. Whether you're a local or a visitor, you can't argue with the fact that this is a very good fish and chip shop.
