Duck & Degustation at the Fireside Festival
With August upon us, it is a time for hearty meals and fine wine by the fire…or so most of us dream about.
Fireside Festival 2015 will be running events over the month of August to fulfil such dreams. With such quality local produce, fine wines and black truffles in season throughout Canberra and its surrounding areas, it is the perfect time to showcase what the area has to offer.

Restaurants Poachers Way in Hall, Podfood in Pialligo and Grazing in Gundaroo (all within half an hour of the CBD) will be hosting degustation dinners showcasing local produce and matching it with quality local wines.

Lerida Estate at Lake George (half an hour from the CBD) has organised a Duck and Pinot Masterclass to learn how Pinot is made and taste some of the best Pinots from around the world, whilst matching it with its perfect partner, duck.
Another class Lerida Estate is running for the festival is the Smoked Produce & Wine Master Class, where you can learn about how producers smoke the products and sample smoked duck, salmon, trout, chicken, ham and bacon. Taste these with matching Lerida Estate wines for a day you are sure to remember.
With half day and full day horse riding, live music over leisurely lunches, wine and cheese matching classes and dozens of options to choose from, this years Fireside Festival has something to keep you warm and cosy across the whole month of August.
