Between 10.00am and 2.00pm on Saturday May 17, fire stations around New South Wales will open their doors to the general public for the annual Fire & Rescue NSW (FRNSW) . It's a day when families can try something different with their weekend, satisfy their curiosity and take home valuable information on safety in the home.

Not just an excuse to see inside the stations, the Open Day will include lots of activities, serving both an educational and an entertainment purpose. You can check out firefighting demonstrations, take a tour of the station or watch fire safety presentations, where you will receive advice about installing smoke alarms, changing them and preparing a home fire escape plan. Children will be able to see the fire engines and firefighting equipment used in emergencies (fire and otherwise), which is always a highlight for them.
