Enjoy fire twirling & drumming fun this full moon in West En
It is said that a full moon can encourage people to act crazy, step outside themselves and dance around in the dark having fun.
Every full moon West End holds its legendary Full Moon Fire Spinning and Fire Twirling Festival. Participants fire twirl and dance around enjoying the beautiful Brisbane evening under the light of a full moon.
The Full Moon Fire Spinning and Fire Twirling Festival is held at Orleigh Park, West End and is put on the Firetricks community, a group of dedicated fire twirlers and circus performers. See their website for more information about this unusual and very cool group.
Come down and see Brisbane's fire twirling community at their best. The fire twirling is not just limited to experienced people though, the community welcomes everyone. It doesn't matter what your level of experience is, from beginners to regular twirlers, everyone is welcome to come and have a spin.
A great night out meeting new friends, learn new moves and have some fun.
Enjoy the drumming circle and the fire twirling demonstrations as well as other entertainment.
The whole family will enjoy this night of free entertainment. Bring your own blankets or chairs, food and beverages and enjoy the free entertainment on offer. Due to the nature of the festivities, this is a drug and alcohol free event.
With great restaurants and local markets now being held nearby over each weekend, West End is certainly the place to be for family fun and entertainment.
The Festival meets near the intersection of Hill End Terrace, Orleigh Street and Montague Road.
Orleigh Park has toilets, BBQ's, picnic areas and a children's playground. The park is accessible by car (limited parking), bus and there are plenty of bicycle parks nearby. South Brisbane station as well as ferry terminals are within walking distance for fit walkers. See the Translink website for transport options.
See the Firetricks website for other events and performances they do, as well as upcoming workshops.
