Embassy of Finland and The Projector bring you the Finnish Film Festival from 12 October to 15 October 2017. This festival is held as part of Suomi Finland 100 Singapore celebrations.

For the very first time in Singapore, the festival brings together a selection of new Finnish cinema curated by The Projector. Expect fabulous feature films to most up-to-date documentaries.



"Little Wing" (PG13)
It is about 12-year-old Varpu, who is quickly growing up and her mother, who doesn't want to grow up.

Director: Selma Vilhunen
Duration: 107 minutes

"Diving Into The Unknown" (PG13)
It's the story is about a life-threatening mission and an unconditional friendship. A group of Finnish cave divers try to bring their dead friends home. What makes this film interesting is the use of footage from the actual accident as well as multiple cameras both above water and deep below the surface filming the rescue.

Duration: 102 minutes

"The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki" (M18)
It is based on a true story of Olli Mäki, a famous Finnish boxer who had a shot at the 1962 World Featherweight title. He became a star and a symbol of his country. Now Olli has one problem - he has fallen in love. This debut film from Juho Kuosmanen won the Un Certain Regard Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.

"Tale of a Lake"
The movie brings audiences on an unprecedented adventure, ranging from crystal clear springs all the way to the basins of the large lakes in Finland through tales that are based on the myths, legends and old beliefs found in Finnish mythology.

Duration: 76 minutes



"Every Other Couple" (M18)
People do get married with a hope to spend the rest of their lives together. However, not all marriages go smoothly.

Duration: 77 minutes

"The Fencer" (PG)
A young Estonian fencer was forced to return to his homeland. He then works a physical education teacher at a local school. His past has put him in the midst of a difficult situation.

Duration: 99 minutes
