The Fine Grind Cafe is a place right outside of the RMIT Brunswick campus. They are located near a train station and right under a block of flats, so it might be a bit hard to find, but that's typical Melbourne and Brunswick. Here they do the finest coffee and the finest turkish food. And everything is cheap - with boreks and salads for $6.
The guy that runs this place tells me that the cafe was opened two and a half months ago and has swiftly attracted quite a few students from the nearby campus.
I love the borek that I had today. That and the lovely coffee ($3.50). I just wished that they did turkish coffee though seeing as this is a turkish place
The coffee had some fruity/winey notes to it. Here they have many different blends of coffee and they change daily. I tried a really strong blend (I think it was from Toby's Estate). I wonder if they do any sort of cupping classes.
I think that the coffee is fairtrade.
I really do wish that they were in The Age Cafe Guide 2012 and that more people come and try them. I will be back one day. They do have a student discount of 10%, so if you are a student it is worthwhile to bring your student ID.
