Get EXCITED! There is no market experience like The Finders Keepers Market at the AMAZINGRoyal Exhibition Building, 9 Nicholson Street, Carlton. Head to the event from 12-14 July 2019; Friday 12-9pm, Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm and join the creative community that's going to be abuzz over three days. Bring family and friends and tell all your market mates. This Autumn Winter season market is going to be HUGE.
There are now TWO entry/exit points! First is at the Nicholson Street entry, and the second is at the rear of the Royal Exhibition Building at the Rathdowne Street entrance. Entry is $5, and children under 12 are FREE!
There are ATM's at the markets, but they notoriously attract long queues, so bring cash if you can. Many stalls also accept debit/credit cards, but don't count on all stalls having this facility.
There's always live music at these events and a good smattering of food trucks. The lineup for both is yet to be announced, so keep your eye on the prize by checking in on the event page and its discussion section where you can interact.

This 2019 lineup has been carefully curated to encourage a weekend of slowing down and shopping sustainably. The makers, designers, artists and talented creatives from around Australia can also be found via the Melbourne Design Directory. Friday is a good day if you're trying to avoid the weekend crowd, and if you're heading in after weekday work, check the happy hour from 3-5pm and treat yourself to some bubbles or a beer from the Byron neighbours at Stone & Wood.
From incredibly dreamy ceramics to some very innovative design solutions, there's going to be plenty of finding – and even more keeping! Drawing on some of the images here, Dana Kinter Art has created a signature style that embraces Australia's native flora and fauna. She's inspired by early 20th century Australian and Indigenous art, religious iconography, Japanese culture, and everything Art Nouveau.
Linen & Lime exudes with the simplicity of French linen designs for those who appreciate comfort, quality and style. All their linen is made using 100% flax grown in France and designed in South Australia to create their beautifully made collections. Lulu and Milly on the other hand are a 100% Australian Made baby and toddler clothing company with products from organic knits using a range of exclusive and on trend prints.
Mel Macklin is a self-confessed kitsch-smitten, fairytale-fancying, pop-femme picture-maker from Melbourne. A careful eye will find unlikely pets (albino alligators anyone?), disapproving cats, anthropomorphic food, the odd rose or strawberry, and at least one magical girl in her images. Whatever size, shape or colour, her girls are all a little piece of her. With so much sass and fun, the creativity of her pieces are bound to ensnare you like a siren's call.
Mentioned here are but the very smallest tip of the iceberg. Fun times are best shared so be sure to toot the horn and bang the drums about this event to family, friends and colleagues as it would be a shame to miss any part of this AMAZING Market in an iconic, visually, yet again - AMAZING building. I'd be putting these dates in my diary right now!
