On Wednesday 17th May 2017, National Seniors Australia invites you to join them for breakfast and attend their informative seminar ''Financial implications of transitioning to retirement.'
Presented by Basil La Brooy, Senior Officer National Seniors Financial Information Desk, this seminar is aimed at over 50s and provides further information to assist in understanding your own situation and resources that can be used, outlines opportunities for those who will be fully self-funded, discusses Government Income Support, and highlights the potential use and types of equity release topics.
For 18 years, Basil worked with the former National Information Centre on Retirement Investments (NICRI) before joining the Financial Information Desk which is an independent, confidential service funded by National Seniors Australia that aims to improve the investment information available to older Australians.
Gathering knowledge to make an informed investment decision can be difficult. Relevant information is not always readily available, nor at a reasonable cost. Keeping up to date can be arduous as the investment industry is constantly changing and evolving. Changes not only occur to investment products but also to legislation, including Government Income Support (GIS), taxation laws and guidelines. FID's role is to arm people with up-to-date independent information that will assist them in making those big decisions prior to and in retirement.
The seminar will be followed by a Q&A session and breakfast will be provided.
