Animation Nation 13-16 October
Singapore Film Society presents Animation Nation . The festival features a retrospective of the works of critically acclaimed and award-winning animator Adam Elliot. His works include Academy Award® winner for Best Animated Short Film in 2003, HARVIE KRUMPET.

Masterclass with Adam Elliot will be followed by a talk by Nick Collins from Imaginarium Studio. It will end with a discussion moderated by One Animation Studio Head John McKenna. 13th Singapore Short Cuts 15-23 October
Singapore Short Cuts , one of the most popular showcases of local short films, will present a selection of short films ranging from documentaries to animation and experimental work.

Hear from the filmmakers in person during post-screening discussions. All films will be screened at Gallery Theatre, National Museum of Singapore. Free tickets could be collected from Visitor Services Counter.


Singapore Lift-Off Film Festival 21-24 October
There are ten Lift-Off Film Festivals held this year respectively in Hong Kong, London, Tokyo, New York, Sydney, Paris, Amsterdam, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Singapore. James Bradley and Ben Pohlman are the festival co-founders. The showcase will make a debut in Singapore.

Singapore is an ideal bedrock for filmmakers who are looking to find financiers. Lift-Off's aim is to help them launch their professional career within films.

Middle East Film Festival 2016 20-30 October
The Middle East Institute and The Projector, with support from Luna Films, present the first ever Middle East Film Festival in Singapore.

Get a closer look into the lives of people living in the war-torn region. At the same time, it also reflects the diversity and strengths of these people. Get your movie ticket at The Projector.



The Paternal House, a film about honour killing, was banned in Iran after its debut screening in Venice. This film is a highlight of this festival.



Perspectives Film Festival 27-30 October
Perspectives Film Festival: Breakthroughs in Cinema 2016 in Cinema 2016 presents an international selection of films from the Surrealist cinema movement. It's almost a century since the beginning of Surrealism. This annual festival is organised by the students from Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information.

Films will be screened at National Museum of Singapore on 27, 28 and 30 October, and The Projector on 29 October. For dialogue, masterclass, and workshop, please sign up here .


Scream Queen FilmFest Tokyo 28-30 October
Foundes in 2013, SQFFT is the only female-centric genre film festival in Asia. This annual film festival supports the independent female filmmakers.

Mai Nakanishi has curated 1 feature-length and 20 short films from around the world. It will mark its international debut in Singapore this year. All films will be screened at The Projector.
