Last weekend was our first visit to the Bayside farmer's market. It takes place the 3rd Saturday of every month and raises funds for the local rotary clubs of Hampton and Sandringham. Being from Yorkshire (north England), we love a good farmer's market and this was up there with the Yorkshire ones!
We decided to head down on our bikes and explore what was on offer. If, like me, you are a lover of true, real food and like to know where your produce comes from and who it's made by - this is definitely the place for you! Running through the morning until 1pm there's plenty of time to make your way there on a Saturday morning.
When we arrived we were welcomed into the Treybit reserve filled with a host of colourful tents displaying an array of wonderful produce - everything from beer, liquorice, hot pulled pork rolls through to fresh organic oranges.
The kids were excited running around tasting all the organic produce at every stall - but even more giddy at the sight of the animal petting pen and the excellent face painters who turned my youngest into a monster for the afternoon!
We filled our tums with freshly baked scones and pulled pork rolls and filled our bags with Darryl's fresh roasted peanut butter and bags of dried fruit for school pack lunches .
The best peanut butter we've tasted yet
A brilliant and fun morning out for all of the family - we will definitely be going back and filling our tums and bags next month!
