When staying out at one of the Fiji islands, there are only a few options for transportation. The most common being the boat, which only leaves at certain times of the day and can take a long time if you have booked an island further away from the mainland.

You can also travel out to your resort by helicopter. Not only is the helicopter more convenient and quicker, but you will see some incredible Fijian sites along the way.

The pilot keeps you fully informed of what islands you are spotting as you are flying over them. Often, on a clear day you can view the array of marine life Fiji has to offer, with viewings of turtles, dolphins and schools of fish while you are flying up high in the sky.

[ADVERT]When landing at Nadi airport, if you are travelling by boat you must travel to the Marina. For helicopter transfers you will be picked up from the airport on arrival and taken to the helipad, where you will await your departure. This pick up is included in the price.

The helicopter is a little more expensive than the boat, but it is definitely worth the extra for convenience and the thrill!

TIPS

  • Don't be put off if you are afraid of heights, as once you are up in the sky you do not feel like you are up high, it is more of a floating feeling

  • Book a return trip and get a discount (saving at least $30 per person)

  • Island hoppers allow 15 kgs per person for the main luggage plus a carry on bag
