Awesome Interactive Museum For Boys Of All Ages
If you have boys (young and old) who love planes, then you need to venture out to Fighter World, a museum dedicated to preserving the history of fighter aircraft.
Located approximately 20 minutes north of Newcastle, near the entrance to RAAF Base Williamtown, Fighter World offers a fully 'hands on' experience. Planes from World War 1 to Present are exhibited in two hangars, where you can freely walk around, touch and take photos of famous planes such as:
Mirage III, Aeromacchi Fokker Triplane The Avon Sabre, Hawker Hunter The Gloster Meteor,
Vampire Jet F-111 and many more.
You also have the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of a Mirage interceptor and Macchi jet trainer and experience what it is like to be one of Australia's 'Top Gun' pilots in today's hi-tech world.
For lunch enjoy great food and friendly service at Cafe Fighter World, which is located near the main hangar. The café serves snacks, light meals, coffee and drinks.
Fighter World is suitable for large groups, with plenty of parking and disabled facilities and is also popular for primary and high school excursions.
Fighter World is open every day (except Christmas Day) from 10am to 4pm and is guaranteed to be a visit your kids will never forget. It's a great experience for boys to share with their dads, uncles and grand-dads.
The cost is only $12 for adults, $10 for kids or $35 for families.
I'd just like to add that this is a good article and my GIRLS loved this place as well. I sincerely hope this doesn't sound too PC but I do think the word boys should amended to kids in your title and article. Cheers.
