Glen Ewin Estate, located in Houghton, South Australia, is a unique heritage winery. With its beautiful garden setting of trees and lakes, it is a very popular venue for functions and especially weddings. The Estate is also home to a big fig orchard boasting more than 12,000 fig trees.
As now is the season for figs, they are putting on an event called "Fig Indulgence". The event will be held on Friday 26 February 2021 from 11am to 3.30pm. The cost is $155 per person.
The Fig Orchard
The event will begin with the opportunity to experience picking your own fresh figs and take some home. Take a stroll among the many fig tree terraces on the property. Then make your way to the lunch location and enjoy a Fig Gin Spritzer and amuse bouche. The General Manager will welcome guests and introduce the Chef and one of their property owners.
Then indulge in a 5 course lunch of delicately prepared dishes featuring figs from the orchard as well as tasting their Gatehouse wine range. Finish the day with a Fig Gin Latte or a Fig Leaf tea.
